Honor your curiosity with answers

Are you therapy-curious?

I want to invite you to embrace your curiosity at every stage of your story. Beginning now, ask the questions that you need to honor your healing and the hope ahead.

The questions I’ve answered below are designed to expand your curiosity.  If you have more questions, you are always welcome to reach out to me so we can find answers together.

What kind of therapy techniques do you use?

There are a variety of tools and ideas that will inform the way we approach your journey. Not every relationship will benefit from every tool, so our experience will always be a conversation. If something doesn’t work, say so! There’s more we can try.

Here are some of the things you may find that support your healing as we go

  • Brainspotting

  • Sensate Focus

  • Gottman Relationship Tools

  • Narrative Therapy

  • Inclusive language

  • Sex-positive communication

  • Gender-affirming resource assessments

We’re located within the Counseling Col:lab office, just off K street in the heart of Sacramento.

This space offers us the flexibility and freedom to explore whatever comes up, while retaining confidentiality and consistency in your healing space. Retreats, workshops and private experiences are hosted in a variety of venues around the United States.

Do you offer virtual support? Yes!

Currently, most of our clients have chosen virtual support. Teletherapy (via video) is available for all who benefit from that support. Accessible therapy from anywhere is a valuable option to expand your healing options.

We use Simple Practice to ensure your privacy securely.

Insurance and finances

Money matters, even in the spaces we wish that it didn’t. Transparency about how much you’ll spend and how to support your growth from a financial perspective can make therapy feel more accessible.

Do you take insurance?

We do not take insurance. Because so many policies have exclusions or messy billing that makes your stress level (and my prices) higher, we eliminate that barrier by being upfront with the cost of your sessions.

How do you collect payment?

Payment is made through our secure Simple Practice portal.

This system requires a credit card on file and frees up your mental space because it’s one less thing you’ll have to remember.

What is a superbill?

It’s an itemized list of every charge that happens during our exchanges so that submitting for reimbursement from insurance, HSA/FSA, or filing your personal documentation is a central experience.

Cancellations and changing plans are a part of life. There is no penalty for rearranging your session more than 24 hours in advance.

Otherwise, your full fee will apply.

Clocking your commitment

Time is a measure of moment and momentum. Understanding how you’ll spend it when you’re working toward a future of possibilities is an important part of the process.

How long will my session be?

Our sessions will be between 50-90 minutes.

You’ll have the freedom to choose which timeframe best serves your story right now when you schedule.

Workshops and retreats will have times listed on their pages.

How long is therapy needed?

Much like everything in life...it depends. Each person/relationship comes with various challenges and strengths. Some folks are great with 4 sessions, while others benefit and want to work on themselves for years.

This is something that will be discussed openly in the beginning sessions. The speed at which you move forward in the process is up to you.

How often will we meet?

The most common session schedule for those on a healing track with an action plan is weekly or bi-weekly. This often transitions to monthly check-ins for wellness maintenance.

You are not bound to this schedule, and the frequency of our appointments will be an ongoing conversation to ensure your needs are being met and your story is being supported.
